The Kativik School Board provides education to the Inuit of Nunavik.  Its facilities are located in the 14 communities on the Hudson and Ungava Bay coasts.  Its administrative centre, presently located in Montréal, will ultimately be relocated in Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the authority of the Secretary General, the Translator/Interpreter provides accurate translations of documents, and interprets at meetings so as to ensure efficient communication in Inuktitut and either English or French.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Translator/Interpreter's certificate or diploma and/or 2 years relevant experience.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Fluent in Inuktitut;
• Fluent in either English or French;
• Computer literate;
• Able and willing to travel upon request.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the SPPOM collective agreement for professionals   / From $39,568 to $ 72,852 annually depending on qualification and experience.

In addition to salary, you may be eligible to other benefits such as:

All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
