POSITION: STUDENTS LIFE ANIMATOR
(RESIDENCE ANIMATOR)

DEPARTMENT: ADULT & VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Adult and Vocational Education, the residence animator must: see to the organization, animation, guidance and safety of the young people who live in the residence;

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Help the students with their evening homework;
- Organize activities for students and take part in the activities;
- See to the safety and well-being of students;
- Take part in and ensure the planning and preparation of meals;
- Be available at night in case of emergency;
- All other tasks deemed relevant by his/her immediate superior.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in guidance counselling, animation, recreology or social work, and relevant experience.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:
Fluent in 2 of the official languages (Inuktitut, English, French)

LOCATION: Student residence in Kangiqsujuaq.

STATUS: Contractual (seasonal)

STARTING DATE OR DURATION: August 2013 to June 2014

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Student life animator. From $ 38 408 to $ 70 717 depending on qualification and experience plus Northern allowance and subsidize housing.
Salary & benefits as per the Non-Teaching Professional Collective Agreement of the Board.
