Quaqtaq students explore the world!

Quaqtaq students explore the world!

Letters from Nunavik may travel several kilometers …
It often happens that our students correspond with other children all over the world. It is a good way of honing our skills in French.

In Mrs. Renée Sassine’s class in Quaqtaq, the students achieved two correspondence projects with other classes.  They exchanged with a class in Montreal and with another group in France. They were able to swap letters, photos and greeting cards made by the students.  They even managed to create a video presenting the students, their work, the school and their community. This was a very motivating project for the students!

How to travel while staying in class?
Mrs. Sassine and her 6th and 7th grade students in Quaqtaq were able to discover various countries all over the world while staying in class!

All the students did some research work to present a continent and then each student had to give their peers some information about a country in the presented continent. The students made a big information board to show the result of their work.

They were thus able to discover different countries and feel like they were somewhat traveling across the World!

A miniature “umiak”!
The students in Mrs. Sassine’s class in Quaqtaq made an “umiak” using cardboard and fabric. The boats are 60 cm long and 50 high with their sail. The 6th and 7th grade artists showed dexterity and patience to be able to achieve this project. Well done everybody!
