EDUCATION CONSULTANT – PRACTICE FIRM AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS PROJECT
SERVICE: ADULT EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING

FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Reporting to the Director of Adult Education and Vocational Trainin,g the consultant is responsible for developing, implementing, conducting and evaluating the Essential skills program which meets the specific needs of Inuit urban manpower. - Organizes the logistics for the training sessions;
Individual meetings with participants on a weekly basis;
Evaluation of skill level of each participant;
Development/Implementation/Modification of training material;
Evaluation of Individual action plan on weekly basis based on the 9 essential skills and career interests of Human Resources and Skill Development Canada;
Career Path Development Employability Action Plan;
Assistance with resume writing;
Interviewing techniques;
Stage placement and follow up;
Organization/Delivery of workshops/seminars related to employment interests (employability, communication, problem solving, etc);
Individual assistance during online training (participants follow individualized computer and on-line programs based on 9 Essential Skills);
Development/implementation/evaluation and follow up of Practice Firm job assignments of each participant on a daily basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
First level university diploma completed in a specialized field that is appropriate for the job.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience;
Fluent in French and English;
Knowledge of Inuktitut, an asset;
Communication skills, essential;
Knowledge of the MS Office suite, essential;
Knowledge of the following sector: adult education, vocational training and service to companies.
LOCATION: Practice firm and essential skills centre, located in Montreal.
STATUS: Replacement.
DURATION: From March to June 30, 2012 with possible renewal.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Education consultant / $37,823 to $71,707 a year depending on qualification and experience.
Salary & benefits as per the Non-Teaching Professional Collective Agreement of the Board.
