EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT - SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND NEW TEACHING STRATEGIES

FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Reporting to the assistant director, the educational consultant is responsible for organizing general adult training and vocational training in Nunavik in the field of science, technology and the new teaching strategies. The educational consultant takes also charge of the routing of the various files entrusted to him.
-The consultant analyzes and gives advice on the selection of the appropriate instructional material, complementary material, equipment, software and software packages;
-The consultant advises the department’s school stakeholders on the means to integrate technologies into teaching.
-The consultant works out and conducts training and information workshops about the elements of the technologies integration program.
-The consultant contributes to the visibility of the Kativik School Board with its socio-economic partners in Nunavik and therefore meets with representatives of various companies in order to jointly develop training programs that meet the needs of the company and its personnel;
-The consultant participates in the organization of training sessions within various training companies in Nunavik and in Montreal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
First-level university diploma in a specialized field that is appropriate for the job.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of science and technology
Teaching experience
Knowledge of the Canadian Practice Firms Network (CPFN) is essential
Fluent in English and in French
High adaptability
Knowledge of Inuktitut and/or Nunavik, an asset
Willing to travel in Nunavik
LOCATION: Montreal with travels to centres and Nunavik
STATUS: Full-time regular
STARTING DATE OR DURATION: September 2010
CLASSIFICATION / SALAIRE / AVANTAGES SOCIAUX:
Education consultant / $37,354 to $70,819 a year depending on qualification and experience.
Salary & benefits as per the Professional Collective Agreement of the Board.
