Course description

Nature of work

  • Perform basic vehicle inspections, take care of lubrication and oil changes, replace various parts (tires, batteries, accessories, exhaust systems, etc.), repair tires, install accessories, etc.

This profession is ideal for someone who meets the following criteria:

  • Has an interest in the automotive industry
  • Enjoys physical and manual tasks
  • Likes working with machinery and performing methodical tasks
  • Is comfortable working in fluctuating temperatures

General Admissions Requirements

Candidate must satisfy one of the following condition in each category (A and B) :


#A

  • Must have completed Secondary III or the equivalent in the language of instruction, a second language, and mathematics


OR

  • Hold an attestation of equivalence of secondary V studies (AESS)


OR

  • Have passed the general development test (GDT) with or without specific prerequisites

 

#B

  • Must not have been enrolled in full-time studies for at least 12 months


OR

  • Be 18 years old when they begin the training


OR

  • Hold a secondary school diploma (SSD) or diploma of vocational studies (DVS) or the equivalent
