The Kativik School Board provides education to the Inuit of Nunavik.  Its facilities are located in the 14 communities on the Hudson and Ungava Bay coasts.  Its administrative centre, presently located in Montréal, will ultimately be relocated in Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Material Services, the principle work of this position consists of the following:

• Assists the school administrators with their material request orders and assigns the appropriate supplier for quotation;
• Verifies that all requisitions have the proper authorized signature and budget code and then forwards to suppliers for quotation prices;
• Verifies quotation prices and data entry of all priced requisitions into the system;
• Generates, prints and faxes purchase orders to the appropriate suppliers;
• Enters data receipt confirmations and forwards documentation to the appropriate personnel;
• Filing of requisitions and purchase orders;
• Prints back up order reports and verifies the status of the order with the suppliers;
• Assists in preparing tenders for material pricing;
• Verifies receipt of purchase orders delivered at the Head Office;
• Responsible for receiving and distributing all incoming mail and fax correspondence within the department to the appropriate personnel.
• Performs all other related tasks as requested by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Completed Secondary V or a diploma or attestation of studies which is recognized by the Board;
Have at least 1 year pertinent experience.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in data entry and inventory systems;
Fluent in English and French;
Strong typing skills;
Excellent organization skills.

WORK SCHEDULE: 35 hours / week from Monday to Friday.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff / from 18.91$ to 21.59$ an hour depending on qualification and experience.
