PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
The Plumbing and Heating program prepares students to practice the trade of pipe fitter.
This trade is part of the building services sector and includes two specialties: plumbing and heating (installation of pipe fitters, modification, repair and maintenance of plumbing and heating systems). More specifically, pipe fitters work on pipes of water supply and drainage systems. They also work on pipes and other components of hydronic, steam, forced air, oil, radiant, natural gas and propane heating systems. They are interested in new technologies, in particular renewable energy (e.g. geothermal, solar).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English and French);
- Experience in adult education, and;
- Experience in multi-level classes.
ASSETS:
- Knowledge and teaching of the MEES programs.
- Experience in teaching English and French as a second language.
- Knowledge of the Moodle platform.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Salary & benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $54,119 to $105,432 annually depending on experience and qualifications. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
