Back to basics!
For those who have made the decision to move to one of our communities to work, you have three trips per school year for you and, if applicable, your dependents. The employee can also choose to transfer one of their trips to a family member or friend to use to visit them in their assigned community.

You have to eat well!
To compensate for the high cost of food in Nunavik, you can choose one of two options that the Board offers to all Nunavik-based employees:
- Option 1: We offer the possibility of doing your grocery shopping remotely and shipping your order to your community. Transportation costs are covered by the Board.
- Option 2: On each paycheck, we cover an amount of the value of the kilograms allocated to you based on the price per kilogram of your community of assignment.
There is also a contribution program run by the Government of Canada, to facilitate access to nutritious perishable food for Northerners living in isolated communities, which can further reduce your grocery bill.

We all need it!
- All regular employees benefit from a vacation period of at least 20 days, up to thirty in some cases (prorated to the time worked).
- Teachers have 8 consecutive weeks off normally scheduled between early June and mid-August. Teachers have a break during the winter holidays and spring semester.
The Board is closed to everyone during the holiday season. You can choose to stay in Nunavik and enjoy the local festivities or go home and visit your family and friends.
Our activities don’t stop during the summer!
However, we have a summer schedule with reduced working hours without loss of pay.

Stay healthy!
- All employees are entitled to at least 6 days to be used for illness each year. You are also entitled to a number of days for medical appointments.
- All employees also benefit from salary insurance in the event of prolonged illness.
The Board offers a low-cost group insurance program (drug and other care insurance).

Need to talk to someone?
The Board offers access to an assistance program for employees and their families, available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week (career counseling, financial advice, psychological services, etc.)

For the future!
The Board offers an advantageous pension plan. Administered by Retraite Québec, the employees are part of the Government and Public Employees Retirement Plan (RREGOP) and the administrators participate in the Supervisory Staff Retirement Plan (PPMP).
