Under the supervision of the Director of Education Services, the Education Consultant provides advice and support to teachers and school teams in the implementation of the Personal Development Content (including Sexuality Education).

 

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

  • Work with different external partners to implement Personal Development Content;
  • Work with different internal partners to implement Personal Development Content;
  • Train teachers or support training offered by partners to teachers;
  • Work with principals and their teams to implement the pedagogical content into classes;
  • Follow up with and support school teams online and in person;
  • Ensure communication between the schools and partners;
  • Carry out related tasks at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of specialization, notably education or sexology.

 

The School Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Legal qualification to teach in the province of Quebec;
  • Experience as a teacher (teaching in Nunavik is considered an asset);
  • Fluency in two of the three languages of the school board (English, French, or Inuktitut);
  • Computer literacy (especially in Microsoft 365, including TEAMS and other Education Technology apps);
  • Frequent travel to Nunavik communities;
  • Knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset.

 

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2104:

From $56,670 to $105,432 annually depending on qualification and experience
