FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Adult Education and Vocational Training, the Education Consultation is responsible for the organization of training activities in Nunavik and handles the various files assigned.
- Provide pedagogical support to teachers across numerous programs.
- Support teachers with respect to classroom management, pedagogical strategies, module planning, evaluation tools and techniques, and help them in their search for necessary materials.
- Plan and supervise workplace internships.
- Organize training activities for teachers.
- Conduct research and stay up to date on news related to vocational training and vocational teaching.
- Collaborate on the implementation of new vocational training programs.
- Perform any other related tasks assigned by the immediate superior.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, in particular education or adult education.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Written and spoken fluency in two (2) of the three (3) working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, English, or French).
- At least five (5) years of experience in the field of vocational teaching.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills in French and English, and knowledge of the MEQ’s approach to vocational training programs.
- Northern experience is considered an asset.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2104: from $56,670 to $105,432 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
