Training Description

Learn the techniques related to the operation of a backhoe loader and the safety measures to respect while working on the field.

Credits are cumulative. They may count towards a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in the field of Heavy Equipment Operation, for programs that include blocks of hours on content covered by the Backhoe Loader Training.

The training includes, but is not limited to:

  • Completing a walk-around inspection
  • Performing preventative maintenance
  • Operating a backhoe loader safely
  • Using forks
  • Using the bucket
  • Excavating with the shovel
  • Using other attachments and carrying loads

This program is designed for Hydro-Québec employees who use a backhoe loader as part of their job.

Participants acquire skills relevant to jobs in the field of Heavy Equipment Operation, for jobs with Nunavik Villages (at warehouses for example), as well as construction or mining companies.

Admission requirements

This training is offered to Hydro-Québec employees.

Depending on the situation and the number of enrolled participants, and conditional on the approval of our implementing partners, this training may be open to the public.
