Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Note that this is not an exhaustive list, but a summary of the most frequently asked question. Refer to the applicable directive for complete information.

Employees submit a request to follow a course or training activity. This request is reviewed by the Professional Improvement Committee. If accepted, the employee will be reimbursed up to a certain amount for the fees associated with the course or training activity.

A travel claim or an invoice payment request along with the associated receipts can be completed online and approved by an HR representative who then sends the request to Finance to issue the reimbursement by direct deposit.

For requests that involve travel, your supervisor can submit a request to the Director of Finance to have 80% of the associated fees covered.

If you have a good idea for training, but you do not qualify under this plan, please contact your immediate supervisor. Your department may have its own training budget.
