Election of a new Kativik School Board Commissioner

Montreal, Qc (October 1, 2015) – On September 25, 2015, Thomassie Mangiok resigned as the commissioner of Ivujivik.  Thomassie however remains with the Kativik School Board and has taken on the position of Center Director at Nuvviti School, effective September 30, 2015.

Election of a new Kativik School Board Commissioner will be held on October 13, 2015, in Ivujivik.

The next Council of Commissioners will take place in Kuujjuaraapik from October 20 to 22, 2015.  The new Ivujivik commissioner should take his/her oath of office during the regular sittings.

Election results will be announced shortly after the election.

The Kativik School Board (KSB) was created in 1975, under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement. Since 1978, it has been the exclusive provider of academic services to the Nunavik population. Education programs developed by the KSB are offered in schools of the 14 Nunavik communities, in Inuktitut as first language and in French and English as second languages.
